Your Mission
We are hiring a Financial Controller to oversee a portfolio of companies, while also actively contributing to our Finnish entity. The position offers flexibility to be based in either Finland or Sweden. As our new Financial Controller, you will play a vital and exciting role, improving and streamlining financial processes in collaboration with the team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Portfolio and Financial Reporting: Manage monthly closing, controlling, and reporting for a portfolio of companies, primarily for our Finnish and Baltic legal entities. Ensure accuracy through reconciliations and financial statement analysis.

• Accounting and Compliance: Oversee salary bookings, VAT, tax, and GL journals, ensuring compliance with local regulations and audit requirements. Be the primary point of contact for external accountants / service providers in relation to monitoring of accounting and reporting. 

• Tax and Annual Reporting: Prepare and / or oversee corporate tax returns, annual financial statements, and coordinate with auditors and internal teams.

• Internal Controls and Process Improvements: Execute internal control procedures and contribute to the development of financial processes.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with external contractors and stakeholders to streamline reporting and compliance processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role within complex environments.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and VAT regulations, particularly in Finland.

• Experience in financial reporting and strong knowledge of internal control best practices.

• Advanced proficiency in IT systems (e.g., ERP, Excel, financial reporting tools).

• Fluent in English and Finnish. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with accounting and tax regulations in other European countries.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.

• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar financial systems.

• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams in fast-paced, international environments.
