Lifecycle & Growth Marketing Specialist
Working at Mercell
At Mercell, we're on a mission to revolutionize public procurement, making it accessible and effortless for everyone involved. Imagine a world where public buyers and visionary suppliers come together seamlessly to make a great deal easier and shape the future. That's what we're all about.
With a dynamic culture built on continuous growth, trust, and collaboration, Mercell offers an environment where your talents can thrive. You will be part of an international environment with ambitious and dedicated colleagues who are passionate about what they do and supported to be themselves.
Together, let's shape the future and create real value for society, one innovative solution at a time.
Your Mission
As our Lifecycle & Growth Marketing Specialist, you will own the execution of our customer acquisition journeys building the email sequences, in-app flows, and AI-assisted workflows that turn strategy into measurable trial signups, activation, and conversion across our European markets.
You'll sit within our Growth Marketing team, working closely with the Head of Growth Marketing and our Senior Marketing Automation Specialist. Together as a team, we form the marketing automation function while having a clear split of responsibilities. Your colleague owns the infrastructure, data model, and reporting architecture while you own the campaigns, flows and messaging that run on top.
This is a hands-on build role for someone who thinks in audiences and behaviours, thrives on iteration, and is already using AI to work smarter not because someone asked, but because you've seen what it makes possible.
Core Responsibilities
Build and manage automated journeys end-to-end: trial onboarding, activation nudges, conversion sequences, and re-engagement programmes with a strong focus on revenue growth.
Design and configure per-campaign audience logic by market, product, company size, and engagement level.
Run A/B tests and continuously optimise journey performance based on engagement, conversion, and downstream pipeline data.
Build and manage in-app messaging and on-site conversion flows (tools such as Sleeknote or similar), scoping targeting logic for each flow: who sees it, when, and why.
Design and iterate on messaging that drives trial signups, feature adoption, and upsell, working closely with Product Marketing to align on positioning.
Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows that make growth marketing execution faster: content repurposing, multilingual campaign drafts, reporting summaries, brief templates. Stay current on AI capabilities and proactively propose new applications.
Required Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience (ideally 3–5 years) with a marketing automation platform HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar. Recent HubSpot experience is especially valued.
Experience in building multi-step journeys from scratch.
Strong grasp of segmentation, targeting, and personalisation: you think in audiences and behaviours, not email blasts.
Experience with on-site or in-app messaging tools (Sleeknote, Drift, Intercom, OptinMonster, or similar).
You are comfortable with data, reading campaign reports, spotting patterns, and making optimisation decisions based on performance metrics.
Hands-on experience applying AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar) in professional work: we'd expect you to show examples of workflows you've already built.
Strong written and spoken communication in English. Additional Nordic or European languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in B2B SaaS or two-sided marketplace environments.
Experience working across multiple European markets or with multilingual campaigns.
Familiarity with Zapier, Make, n8n, or other no-code/low-code automation tools.
A genuine curiosity about the craft of marketing how it shapes behaviour and how new tools can help you do it better.
